Varicose Veins

| December 19, 2011

Varicose veins occur when pressure inside the vein forces them to the surface just under the skin and sometimes bulging out.  Under the skin they are very visible as dark blue lines.  They can become painful if they become distorted and twisted.  Hemorrhoids are varicose veins in the rectum.  This whole process can happen to anyone because as we age, collagen (the cushion under the skin) decreases naturally thus the dark veins show through the thin skin.  This is especially evident at the ankles where skin is already thin.  Butchers Broom and Horse Chestnut are traditional herbs used to improve these fragile veins; Vitamin C is also important as it helps strengthen veins and capillaries.  Natures Way has combined these ingredients with others designed to support collagen production in the product called Leg Vein.
