Bitter melon is a natural way to control high blood sugar. It is high in a plant like insulin that effectively lowers blood sugar. Our customers who used this product regularly say it works. One caution. It does work so if you are on any diabetic medications, be sure to monitor your blood sugar levels so they don’t get too low.
Bitter melon is a tropical fruit and looks more like a warty cucumber. It grows on a vine and the fruit is harvested when green. It is widely eaten in Eastern diets but is considered an “acquired taste” because of it’s bitter flavor. If you’re lucky enough to see it in your grocery store, give it a try. Slice it lengthwise, scoop out the seeds, then slice in bite size pieces. Par boil in water for 3 or 4 minutes as this reduces some of the bitterness. Combine with strong flavored food such as beef, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, green pepper and some chilies.
