Lutein and Macular Degeneration

luteinLutein is the most abundant carotenoid found in fruits and vegetables and this product is processed from marigolds.  Lutein is especially important for eye health as it concentrates in the macular in the eye.  Macular degeneration may occur when lutein gets low and can lead to blindness so this supplement is extremely important to both prevent and to help alleviate this condition.  Lutein is also an antioxidant and because it concentrates in the eyes, may help to prevent cataracts.
