Heart Arrhythmia – Irregular Heartbeat

| March 1, 2013

Heart arrhythmia or irregular heartbeat is a temporary rapid or pounding heartbeat or a temporary skip in the heartbeat.  Most people experience this at some time and for most it is not a serious condition.  In fact, many ordinary reasons can account for it, the most common being low magnesium or low thyroid function to name two.  There can be a serious reason for this to happen, also, so don’t hesitate to see a doctor for a checkup if you are concerned.  In the meantime, you can try the natural suggestions here; they won’t interfere with any traditional medical treatment you may receive.

The first thing to try is magnesium.  According to medical reports, most people are low in magnesium so if you are not supplementing with this mineral, try it.  You’ll know in just a day or two if that’s what you need.  Your heart will settle down.  Magnesium rich foods are dried beans, tofu, seeds and nuts, green leafy vegetables, and whole grains.  If these foods are not part of your diet, you may be low in magnesium.

Is your body temperature below normal?  If so, you have a low thyroid and this, too, can contribute to irregular heartbeat.  Fix the thyroid, fix the heartbeat.

One of the best herbs to strengthen the heart is hawthorn berry.  This herb has been used for centuries for heart health and is even mentioned in the Bible for this use.  Who doesn’t need a strong heart, especially as we age.  This is a great natural supplement.

Feel safe in using any of these natural products even if you are taking prescription medications.  After all, they are food.  Click on “hawthorn berry” above for a hawthorn capsule or use hawthorn berry tea, below.
