This is a great book to have whether you’re interested in nutrition, health, natural healing or cooking. “Foods that Heal,” by Dr. Bernard Jensen, is a reference on fruits and vegetables and their healing properties. You will want to use this book over and over. It goes into the history of food as medicine farther back than Hippocrates (and he was a great believer in foods) and brings you up to modern times when scientists were able to identify the components of fruits and vegetables and their benefits to your health. There are several quick references and charts to enable you to look up specific fruits and vegetables and further, find out which body system benefits most from them. If you like reading cookbooks, you’ll like reading this book.
