oreganoOregano, and its close cousin Marjoram, share many of the same attributes.  Oregano has the stronger flavor and slightly stronger healing benefits.  It is antispasmodic, calming, a stomach tonic for indigestion and colic, and an expectorant.  Wild oregano appears to be even stronger and is available as Oreganol.  Oregano and marjoram look alike but there is a difference.  Oregano has a sharper taste than marjoram, marjoram tastes sweeter and milder than oregano.  In fact,  marjoram is usually referred to as sweet marjoram.  These are easy to grow perennial herbs so I hope you can make space in your garden for them.  Cooking?  Oregano is used extensively in Italian and Mexican dishes.
