Dried Beans

dried beans“Beans, beans, the musical fruit; the more you eat, the more you toot. The more you toot, the better you feel; so let’s have beans for every meal.” Beans are a great source of protein and although not a complete protein (such as found in meat and dairy), can be made complete by combining with brown rice, corn, or wheat (as in whole wheat bread). Besides, they are inexpensive. They also have a host of other benefits. They are high in fiber, good for cleaning excess cholesterol from your colon. Beans, especially the colored beans (such as kidney and pinto) are rich sources of antioxidants–those agents that clean the gunk out of your body. Do you toot after eating beans? That’s normal. I have found that I toot less by eating the beans suggested for my blood type in the book “Eat Right 4 Your Type.”
